Bracelet from El Salvador
This bracelet was made in El Salvador. I don't know when exactly, but most likely recently. My friend, who I've known for a while now, bought it for me when she went on a trip to El Salvador during the summertime. I don't know the exact price, but when I had asked her she said it was quite expensive. I've never visited El Salvador, but mostly everyone I know has been or is going to go. The more that I think about it, the more I realize how little I know about my own culture. Both of my parents are from El Salvador. Both of them crossed miles to get to America in hopes of their children having better opportunities than they did. And yet, to this day, I know not a single thing about the country I was said to be from. I think it's important for people to know where they come from. To explore their backgrounds. To embrace their culture. I never had the opportunity and I can only wish that those who do take it.
