I got this bracelet when I was 12 my mother gave it to me when we went to Dominican Republic this is important to me and it has a very big connection to my family and them being immigrants. This bracelet does not only represent where I'm from but it also represents where my family is from when I look at the bracelet I imagine how my parents struggled to come here and what they did to form a life in a new country. They are proud to be Dominican even though they're in a new country and everything around them is different. When I wear this I feel like I embrace where I'm from and I'm letting people know where I'm from.
