When i was in the fourth grade, i was introduced to the percy jackson book “the lightning thief”. When i read the book i was in awe. it was such a good book. I was already halfway done with the book after being first given it to read. After that i would leave it at my desk  and continue the next day. I was then given the second book after reporting back. I was getting really into the series and decided to bring it home. I have been keeping the books away from my mother because i knew how negatively she would react. My mother who is very religious decided to investigate the book. She was not pleased. She came into my room and caught me reading. The book cover had a ghastly dragon in a bed of fire, this was not ideal. She told me to return the book, and then confiscated my library card to stop me from getting my books. But after asking my friends they let me use their card to borrow more of my books. The reason these books connect to my identity because these books are what shaped my love for books.
