Bones
These bones lying in my yard symbolize my connection to my interest in nature and in my Grandparent's pasture. I found these bones in my grandparent’s pasture. My grandparents live in Winfield and own an acre of land. They use the land for farming, feeding cattle, and entertaining their grandkids.
I have always loved the feeling of exploring new parts of the treacherous area. Twists and turns, tall grasses, small streams, and tiny forests inhabit this place. Whenever I make a new discovery, it feels as if there is a quiet secret about this beloved land that has been entrusted to me.
One way I love exploring the pasture is by riding the 4wheeler around the open grassland. As I was riding, one day, I happened to run into those bones. Immediately I felt like they were special and if I left them there they might not be back the next day. I took them back to the house and showed off my bone. Bones, to me, are like trophies that display a good exploration of the pasture. We have several hanging on trees at my grandparent's house. Every time look at one, I remember the trip I took to find each bone. The are like cages that hold inside a memory of a good time I had being around trees and grasses. When I look at these bones, I remember the day I proudly displayed them to my family and the sense of pride and happiness at such a rare find.
