Blini
This is a blini. This food is from Russia. This desert represents how happy people are for spring to come after a cold and long winter in Russia. On this day people put a giant doll in the fire to say goodbye to winter ghosts This tradition is like a parade. The day when all of this is happening is called Maslenitsa. My babushka cooked me blini when I was little and it was delicious. I think in every Soviet country people were eating blini. It's been a long time since I’ve eaten blini. It is really important for my family, because it reminds us of joy and peace. Bliny is a flat pancake that is made out of butter, liquid butter, flour, eggs, some salt, and sugar. Why did I pick this object? I am in America, twelve thousand miles away from Krasnodar. I needed to remember things that I enjoyed when I was a little kid so I picked this object as a reminder of home. When I really miss Russia I really enjoy writing about my home and my culture.
