Every house has extra blankets for guests; the ones at my home are almost always in use. My mom has a wide variety of homemade family heirloom blankets. Every girl in our family learns to crochet to make these blankets to pass on. Blankets provide warmth and comfort, which people who stay at my house do not get to experience a lot. My mom opens her home up to many of my and my siblings’ friends. She has become a second mother for many people because of her loving nature. She relates to the experiences these kids go through from her childhood in Rochester, New York. She moved here because my grandmother thought she found the love of her life. These blankets make people feel like they are apart of our family and are welcome at our home.
