Black Bracelet from Illinois
At home I have a black bracelet with a scrap of metal. This bracelet is one that my grandfather used when he arrived in the United States. He bought the bracelet in some store in Illinois. When he was going back to Honduras, He decided to give it to my dad since he was going to stay here and live a life with opportunities.
Furthermore, When I first wore the bracelet it was comfortable around my wrist. I felt like my grandfather was watching me or was with me whenever I went somewhere. This bracelet is extremely valuable since it passed down and I have it now under my care. Though I was a bit confused how a bracelet with a scrap of a metal piece can be so important until I heard the story behind it. I was given the bracelet in 2nd grade after transferring Chelsea to Revere. It was more like a gift or something to remember him by, the bracelet was at first a bit uncomfortable but I got the hang of its texture around my wrist. I was confused how it was so important when I first wore it to school and kids looked at it if something was wrong with or bewildered on,, why is a bracelet with a scrap of metal so important? My teacher called on me since the bracelet I had on was so important it took the class's attention to me. She told me to come up and explain what I bought today in class. I explained how it was passed down by my grandfather and how it was important since it was his first ever accessory or item he bought when he first arrived in the United States. It’s a treasure to remember him whenever we are alone or having hard times in tough situations.
