When my grandmother died, she passed on one of her most meaningful possessions to my mother which was a bible. It was meaningful to my grandmother because she had received it as gift on her wedding day. Although my family has other bibles, the bible that my grandmother gave my mom is significant because my grandmother only used that specific bible in her life to preserve the religion we believe in. Her reason for giving it to my mom was maintain religion through our generations. It is important to me because the Bible will be passed on to either me or my sisters to continue the religion and its culture. It connects to my identity because the Bible is originally from Mexico which is my ethnicity.
