Long ago I was gifted with african-waist beads (Baya) by my grandmother in Africa. In some African cultures Baya is a celebration of femininity for females and it can be worn by any age of females! But for the grown females not everyone is supposed to see it unless their partners or some family members and other females friends. Then it broke when I traveled to the US because it was too old and there was no one to strengthen the rope like my grandma used to do! I wish I still had it because then if I ever happen to get a kid or a lover then I may pass it to them.
