Baseball

In Fun

My grandfather was a special figure in my life. For the short amount of time that I knew him, I enjoyed spending time with him. I didn’t meet him until I was 9 and that was because he lived in Dominican Republic and wasn’t a U.S citizen. It was around the time I was 9 when he got his green card and moved to America with us. He was always a fanatic for baseball. He would always watch baseball games on TV whenever he could. The one thing he loved than watch baseball games on TV was actually going to a baseball game. He would always take me with him. I myself never really liked watching it, but I came along because it made him happy. It was always a jolly time when we went to the games though. He’d buy me a hotdog and soda every time. Our last baseball game was around 2012. At this game, He caught a foul ball! He gave it to me and I was so ecstatic. The reason why it was our last baseball game was because my grandfather was very sick. He passed away and I was very distraught. The only memento of him I have is the baseball he gave me. Everytime I look at the ball, I remember all the good times we had. That ball is our special bond.
