Bangladesh Independece day
Bangladesh is a small country but it wasn’t always a country of its own. The country gained independence on March 26, 1971 which was only 51 years ago. This is a date almost everyone in Bangladesh remembers weather on purpose or because most of the population have that day off from work or school. This topic is learned through many schools alongside relatives who have been old enough to see it happen and remember. My grandfather told me about all the fighting he would see happening really far away from his home but close enough to be noticed. This Victory makes me proud because if it didn’t happen a lot of traditions and cultures in different parts of Bangladesh might have not been alive anymore and die down and it makes me feel proud of my country’s victory since the military was smaller in number but still managed to win through strategies and not giving up. The next generation might not feel as connected or as proud as someone who grew up in Bangladesh and lived there but there are ways to remember that tradition. 1 way that I can keep it alive is by teaching them about it through songs, games, stories that will keep them engaged and interested.
