Being a part of the Balochistan community, I would proudly love to share the traditional clothing we wear. It is called Doochi for women and for men it’s called Shalwar Kameez. It is often worn during weddings and cultural functions. These clothes are handmade, and they are expensive as well. You can find them anywhere in Pakistan. We are in many cities in Pakistan, and you can find our traditional clothing in these cities too. These clothes are important in my family because they represent my culture and my family name. Almost anybody can wear these clothes if you ever visit the famous city of Balochistan. Even babies in my culture wear these clothes. Even though I don’t live in Pakistan, and I live in America, that doesn’t stop me from showing off my culture. These clothes are significant because they remind me of where I’m from. Regardless of if I don’t live there, they remind me to never forget my actual roots. Being in America I still wear these clothes, to show the world where I’m from. Showing off my culture and representing the Balochistan community is a very valuable thing!
