Baleadas Hondurenas
The baleada is a typical food of the Garífuna community. The baleada is a food that is made with flour, salt, soda, water, and sugar. And the ingredients inside are eggs, beans, butter, "cream" cheese, avocado or to taste. You can also add chicken and ground beef.I once wanted to try making baleadas for the first time, so I went to the kitchen and found the ingredients and mixed them together as I had seen before. I never thought it would turn out right, I thought it wouldn't turn out perfect since I was only 13 and had never made them. My aunt and my cousins were surprised because no one was with me to show me how to make them and they turned out well, they didn't imagine that the first time I made them they would turn out perfect, it wasn't easy at all, but now I do them without complications. The baleadas that I do here in New York always remind me of the first time I did them in Honduras.
