Homemade Baguette

Baguettes could be called the symbol of French culinary culture. They are consumed daily by millions and are integral to meals across the country. Baguettes are known for their long shape and crispness. Since I was 4 years old, bread has always been a part of the meals with my family whether it was Boule, Baguette or Fougasse. Now I make baguettes with my mother. Baguette is made with yeast, honey, salt, olive oil, flour, and water. In the US baguettes are most common in breakfast shops used for sandwiches or in restaurants as appetizers. My father's side of the family is from France and making these foods with my family reminds me of where we have come from making me feel at home.
