Autographed Blackhawks Cap
The object is a hat that used to be worn until it was signed and became a display item. The hat rests on my shelf to be remembered. I got it during the 2017 NHL entry draft when my mom bought me a hat to avoid the heat and to be signed. I did not get it signed during the draft days but later during an event at my aunt’s job where I met Ryan Hartman. The moment was terrifying for me as it was my first hockey player I met. I was really nervous about the whole thing, but Hartman was a kind guy who was literally traded the next day after signing my hat.
The hat means a lot to who I am as the only thing consistent to who I am is my love for hockey. My hockey passion is all I have as after that I do not feel like I have anything of my own. Hockey is part of me unlike anything else in my life and always will be. That hat reminds me of the days of watching the sport with my family. I even watched a game with my dad in Texas on TV which meant a lot to me as me and my dad stopped being close when I turned 8 and hockey helped make a small stride in the right direction for me.
