The dress of “Pilahuin, Ecuador”
The Pilahuin dress is made up of “anaco, chumbe, blusa bordada y alpargatas”, these elements represent the colors of the landscapes and nature of Ecuador. When I was about to turn 15, my mom gave me this dress to celebrate my 15th birthday the day before. All my aunts wore the same outfit because it shows elegance and also shows where we are from. This dress has been in our family for many years and for each one of us it is very important to take it into account, since we identify with this culture and this culture identifies us that we are and come from an indigenous people.I hope that this dress continues in my family, in the new generations, representing where we come from and where we are now and that our culture continues to be seen in the United States
