Adobo an all purpose seasoning

The object that I hold dear to me is a meal it called, Arroz con habichuelas, which is basically white rice with beans and chicken. I hold this dish dear to me because the specific recipe that my mother uses has been passed down for generations, it first started with my great grandmother in Puerto Rico, and I have been eating this meal ever since I was little. My mother likes to add lots of things to the rice that makes it taste amazing, she adds a seasoning called adobo, which is an all-purpose seasoning, she also adds beans to the rice and sometimes sausages. The very last ingredient she adds is a special sauce that she makes beforehand, my great grandmother was the first to make this sauce and my family has been adding it to our rice ever since, and it is what makes the rice the best in the world. I love to eat it because the smell and taste reminds me of when I was little watching my mother cook, and not being able to wait for the food to be done. I am hoping to be able to learn how to cook in the future so I can make the meal myself and invite my mother over so I can cook it for her and show just how good I am at cooking the family recipe.
