Monterey Bay Aquarium

Mama y Papa or the first two words I learned in my home language. And who knew that I was going to be part of a culture that was decorated in color and taught me my morals in life to work hard. It all started at an aquarium where I remember going to because that Aquarium was close to a large group of people from Oaxaca Mexico. These people taught me my culture in ways I always thought I wasn't ever going to learn because I was always stubborn always refusing to be Hispanic because how people look down upon it when I was growing up in elementary. But since I've grown and noticed that I'm really excited and happy that I was able to go to Mexico and meet everyone in my life that showed me who I am as a person. This photo represents my mother and my uncles and one of them sadly passed away a couple years ago but when we went to go and take his ashes back to Mexico during a very beautiful month of October where they start preparing for Day of the Dead it made me really grateful to be part of this culture where one can celebrate their loved ones that have moved on to the next life in this beautiful artistic way.
