It was April 12 in the morning when we were going to celebrate our arrival of how we Garifuna come to land and how they started to build their houses we celebrated this waiting for the boats across the ocean with many Garifuna singing our music and playing the drum this event makes me feel good because my grandparents in their time also celebrated it. We have been celebrating this for 225 years. I hope to return to my country to celebrate again because here in New York we can't celebrate but every April 12 I feel proud because I see a video when they are celebrating in my country.
