Hello my name is Angela, I am American from Mexican decent. My father is from Mexico and moved out here when he was about 17 years old. From the moment he moved out here he was working and trying to make a living for himself. My mother is from here but her father is from Mexicali so she is part Mexican as well. They met when my mother was 16 and my father was 23. These photos that I have posted give a little insight to my life. The first photo that I put up is a set of photos that we have on one of our walls in our home. These photos are in a certain order that shows how our family has grown. At the very top is a photo of my parents of their wedding day. The photos on the lefthand side are of my dad's parents and their parents. On the right side of my parents' photo is my mom's parents and their parents. Being able to look at these photos everyday is truly a blessing because everyday I can see the people that helped form the family that I am from. The other photo is a family photo that consists of my parents, two sisters and I. In the background you can see a photo of the Virgin Mary which is extremely important to my family and someone we look up too. She is someone that we pray to on a daily bases and in times of need. The final photo is of lyrics to a "corrido" which is a song in Spanish. This song is about my mother's grandpa's family (on her mother's side) and how they came to the Americas. In this one song it explains a whole lot of history about part of the family that I come from.
