My object is a book about my ancestors. When I was younger, my mom would tell me that my brother, my mom, my grandma, and their side of the family were a part of the Chinook tribe. I never believed it because it sounded far-fetched, but then she showed me this huge book, and it looked super old and boring; every page was basically brown from the weather. They said my 7th great-grandfather was a chief of the Chinook tribe and that it said so in the book. They read the book outloud to me, then showed me a drawing someone made of him. He had a flat head and weird ears. After reading the book, my mom told me that when Lewis and Clark came here, he was the one who met up with them and talked about their travels. His name was Chief Comcomly. This is more than just an object; it is my family's history.
