Story pending

I chose this ring that my great grandpa got when he got his first motorcycle back in the early/mid 1900s. His family moved from Ireland to the US in the 1930s when he was in his late teens and, after a rough start, they were able to gain a foothold and start establishing themselves in the United States. After looking online a little bit, it looks like these rings were given to people who joined the American Motorcyclist Association in the 30s and 40s. The significance in this case is that he was finally able to save up and buy a motorcycle which he used as his only method of transportation while working to support his newly relocated family. Unable to afford a car, the motorcycle represented an amount of freedom to do more and work at a wider variety of jobs that traveling by foot or bike allowed. This also marked the beginning of his lifelong fascination and hobby with motorcycles, something that would persist among my mom's side of the family until today.
