Abaya is worn by all women in my country, Yemen. Abaya reflects Islamic identity, it is not just a piece of cloth, it is an expression of our culture and heritage. Abaya reflects a woman’s strength and self-confidence, it hides her body and highlights her personality. The more I wear an abaya, the more confident I become. It represents a woman’s life story. My mother, grandmother, sister and aunts wear abaya. Abaya is like a black dress and it may be from Saudi Arabia. When I wear an abaya, I remember my country and my family and I feel happy.
