A pair of shoes

Three years ago I came to the United States, and I was a small and skinny kid.  I know this because after 3 years when I saw my clothes (pants and a pair of shoes) that I wore the first day, I realized none of them fit me anymore. I tried to wear my pants  again but the problem was that the pants didn't fit me since it did not reach my waist and when I tried to walk I fell. I tried to put on my shoes, but my foot  grew and they did not fit me. When I compare my shoes now to my shoes of my first day, I see how my first shoes looked like they were made for Smurfs, while the others were made for Bigfoot.

The pants and the pair shoes have an important meaning to me, since it shows a little of my past, and also shows the hard road that I have faced and the dangerous events that I managed to pass. It reminds me of the challenges I faced on the way to the United States and these motivate us to move forward. Another reason this is very important to me since remembering this makes me stay firm to my goal and it reminds me why I am in this country, why I struggled a lot to finally be here. It is important because it gives me determination to work hard to have a good future for me and my family in this foreign country.

The shoes have a special meaning since it shows that I always need to stay on the ground despite all the problems, challenges. Representing that always I need to stay firm to my goal. The  shoes are my past, the legacy that I want to keep and pass from generation to generation that will make me remember a little of me in the next years.
