My object is the 1893 Chicago World's Fair commemorative half dollar. My grandparents gave two of them to my family two years ago and now they are a part of my coin collection. The coins are made of 90% silver and 10% copper. They feel heavy.
I chose the two 1893 Chicago World's Fair half dollars as my objects because they are sentimental to me. My great aunt gave them to my grandparents who gave them to my family. When I look at these coins they remind me of my grandparents.
I wonder why my great aunt had them. I wonder who designed the coins. And I also wonder if she got them from the Chicago World's Fair because that's where people handed them out. I like these coins a lot!
