Zikhr Beads

Relationship: Im/migrant

My item is called Zikhr Beads (Th-ic-ker Beads). This item is used in Islam, usually after prayer. After Prayer, you can continue to pray using the beads. Each bead represents a saying to remember God (Allah). The prayers you recite are:Alhamdullah-- Which means “Thank God”Subhan Allah-- Which means “God Is Glorious”Allahu Akbar-- Which means “God Is Great”.You say each prayer 33 times each. Zikhr beads are used in the Middle East or in Muslim countries. My dad sometimes uses the Zikhr beads to pray. Zikhr beads are optional and it doesn’t matter if you don’t use them. Zikhr beads are mostly made of stones or wooden beads.I chose this item to show the class how we Muslims take prayer seriously. I’m very proud of my religion because my family respects prayer. We don’t feel that our prayers and rituals are a burden or something to be ashamed of. We believe prayer is as close to being with God on earth as you can. You must take your time and never rush when praying or that prayer doesn’t count. Zikhr (Arabic: تسبيح‎) is a form of dhikr that involves the repetitive utterances of short sentences glorifying Allah.
