My mom and dad entered a lottery in hopes that we would be able to go to America. They finally won but the problem was that my mom and dad had two more children than when they applied for the lottery. It was a decision they had to make between coming to America with one of their children or passing up a big opportunity like this. My parents wanted a better education for me, so my grandmother took care of my two younger siblings, who were about 4 and 2 at the time. The picture was the last one we took as a family. It took about two years for my parents to be able to bring my siblings to America. At that time they did not even recognize that I was their big sister. But I made a vow to always try my best and try succeed in anything I do because that was a big risk my parents were willing to take to give me and my siblings a better life.
