My family originally came from Sicily and later moved to Queens New York. My great-grandparents adopted my grandmom from Canada. Even though my grandmom is a French Canadian she was raised as a true Italian. Years later as the family grew we never broke our traditions of authentic Italian meals. The food we make connects my whole family, we usually have five-course meals. Starting with two or three appetizers ranging from crackers and cheese, mozzarella balls, pepperoni, olives, sweet peppers, and wine. Our first entre is some type of pasta it might be ravioli, stuffed shells, bakes ziti, or gnocchi. Our main dish is almost always ham with some type of starch such as mashed potatoes, vegetables, and olives. Ending the meal with some type of dessert. At the end of the day what brings my family together is pasta. It always has and always will connect my family and friends. Creating lasting memories at dinner, bringing us as a whole closer together.
