In my family, there is me, my mom, dad and my little sister. My parents came from Haiti, but I was born in Brooklyn. My parents never told me about Haiti but I'm sure it wasn't comfortable to live there. That's why they came to America for a better life. Ever since my parents came to America, my mom likes to make rice daily. The reason why my mom makes rice everyday because when they was in Haiti, they were poor and rice was the only cheap thing in Haiti and it fills you up quick. And she also enjoys cooking different kinds, like brown rice and black rice. Ever since I was born, that's all me and my little sister had to eat and I got use to it. so every time I see rice anywhere else, it makes me think about my family and how much they love rice. This is why rice represents me and is very important to my family.
