Gelato

Gelato is a famous Italian type of ice cream that has a higher proportion of milk and not as much cream or eggs as ice cream. Gelato came from Italy and dates back to the 16th century. My grandpa introduced me to gelato at a young age not just to have something sweet that looked pretty but to show me the ethnicity and culture that my family has. During Easter, Christmas, and birthdays my mom’s side of the family always has gelato for dessert along with other italian pastries which is a tradition my grandpa will continue to share within family for centuries. Gelato is important to me because my grandpa was the first to show me this and I am very close with him. It is also important to my ethnicity and family background. I will pass this tradition down along with my brothers.
