10 Quetzales

This is a picture of my artifact. It is a 10 Quetzales bill. It belongs to me. It is important to me because I brought it with me to the United States. It represents my country. Because I couldn’t  change it in my country, I changed the money I had in Mexico. Then I realized that I had this bill in my bag. I had to hide it in my jean’s pocket since I was not allowed to travel in a car with a bill from my country. If the police had seen it, they would have deported me back to my country. I folded the edges so they couldn't see it when I passed through Mexico. When I went through immigration, I had to hand over my things and I handed in the bill. I thought they were not going to give it back to me. When I received my belongings back, the first thing I checked was the bill. And it was still there. Since then, I have kept the bill with me in my cell phone case. It is very important for me since I still cannot travel to my country to use my country's bill. It comes from my country and it represents the people of my country. It reminds me of my country and I remember the day when my mother sent me to the store to shop and I went with a 10 quetzales bill. It also reminds me of the symbol that represents my country, which is the national bird of my country. It is called the Quetzal.
